Separate development and commercial shipments
A prototype parcel and a commercial consignment can need different documents and import treatment. Agree sample description, intended use, recipient responsibilities and the documents available before dispatch. A courier acceptance is not evidence that a finished product can be marketed in the destination.
Agree the trade terms
Discuss EXW, FOB or another suitable term within the actual quotation. Confirm named place, freight, insurance where relevant, taxes, customs responsibilities and delivery assumptions. Pricing and timelines are quoted for the route and scope; there is no universal door-to-door promise.
Protect the pack in transit
Review carton integrity, handling, temperature and moisture exposure, closure protection and any required transport evaluation. Label the final product consistently with its approved specification and lot identity. Keep shipment records linked to batch-release documentation and the importer’s requirements.
