Use explicit development gates
A CDMO brief can connect feasibility, prototype work, a specification, process transfer and production documentation. Define which activities are in scope and who approves each gate. A broad service label should never hide unresolved testing, safety or market questions.
Transfer the complete system
Include ingredient grade and origin, blend sequence where relevant, nonwoven material, sealing and fill criteria, packaging components, test methods and artwork versions. Identify critical parameters and the procedure for deviations or substitutions. The commercial handover should refer to a controlled specification.
Plan changes and release
Agree who can approve a change, when samples must be re-evaluated and which records accompany a batch. A change in flavor, ingredient supplier or barrier pack may require more than an artwork update. Commercial scale, timelines and release responsibilities are confirmed in the project agreement.
